OUR MISSION

The mission of the Foundation is to promote and encourage cultural development in Chacala and nearby Riviera Nayarit communities as high quality artistic destinations. We accomplish this by supporting a number of events and activities which currently include a Literary Festival in December, an Artist Residency Program in January, a Music & Art Festival in March and a Mariachi Institute in June.  We are in planning for a Guitar Institute and Gastronomy Event.

We are equally involved in promoting Mexican culture as well as providing non-Mexican cultural exposure. Likewise, we committed to serving both adults and children equally in the community and have recently launched a sisterhood relationship with Center for Arts Evergreen, Colorado.

The Chacala Cultural Foundation was started to give an overall structure to the artistic events happening in this village including a music festival, artists and writers residencies, a mariachi institute and other events. The local Chacala community, as well as part-time and full-time folks who care very much about the people and this beautiful area, combine to produce the various events.
